About this role
You will join the RCM operations team as a senior credentialed coder assigned to one or two specialties you have prior production experience in. You will code claims, work denials, ground-truth the AI Suite agents, and shape the playbooks that other Medonix coders use across the same specialties.
What you will own
- Code claims for assigned specialties with the accuracy and turnaround time committed in the customer SLA.
- Ground-truth AI Coding agent outputs and feed back to the ML engineering team on edge cases.
- Author and maintain the specialty playbook: modifier guidance, payer-specific scrub rules, denial-prevention notes.
- Mentor a junior coder rotating through your specialty.
Must-haves
- Active AAPC (CPC, CPC-H, CPC-P) or AHIMA (CCS, CCS-P) credential.
- 5+ years coding in at least one of: cardiology, orthopedics, ob-gyn, dermatology, gastroenterology, neurology, or oncology. Other specialties considered.
- Production-volume coding experience: you can hit the volume committed in the SLA.
- Comfort working in modern, software-driven coding environments. (You will not be using a fax machine.)
Nice-to-haves
- Multiple credentials or specialty certifications.
- Prior experience grounding-truth AI / NLP coding outputs.
- Experience writing payer-policy summaries or denial-prevention training material.
Day in the life
You code through your assigned queue at the volume committed in the SLA. Across the day you will work a few denials, review three or four AI agent suggestions on hard cases, and join one async standup. Friday afternoons are reserved for playbook updates and CE-credit work.
Compensation
Base $90K–$130K depending on specialty and depth, plus 5% target performance bonus, plus full AAPC / AHIMA exam fee and CE reimbursement.
